Sustainability

We are fully committed to sustainability in all our designs, whether for new build or refurbishment. Although the current legislation in the UK becomes increasingly stringent, we have always striven to exceed the minimum and produce truly low-carbon or zero-carbon structures. With all the so-called 'green-wash' out there trying to mislead us, we take a real stance on green issues to positively effect the built and natural environment.

In our office this means, at the minimum, the use of Good Energy, the UK's only provider of 100% renewable electricity, 100% recycled paper in all our stationary, choosing public transport over private, rechargeable batteries, recycling of all possible waste, and the switching off of all equipment at the power source.

In our designs, we strive to demonstrate that not only does the production of buildings with 'green' technology ensure the individual's part in the protection of our planet and its resources, but that they can be seamlessly integrated into the building fabric and will save money for the owner in the not-so-long term.

We can advise on a number of strategies to upgrade existing structures, as well as the design of new ones, including site placement, passive heating/cooling, sustainable/renewable building materials, pre-fabrication, insulation, active heating/cooling, solar heating and electricity, and water conservation and re-use.
